Organization Stucture

The center sets up five research sections:Trade and finance of Europe Union Section;Law of Europe Union and globalization Section;European politics and nternational relations Section;European philosophy Section and European culture and education Section. The fields the center covered are economy, trade, finance, law, politics, international relations, public management, history, literature, education, philosophy, etc. Its academic focus on: European economic theory, economic reform and development, trade relations and development between China and Europe, the European financial market development, risk management and pervisory system, European legal system and its validity, reform trends and achievements of the economic law in Europe, the political and economic relation and tendency of occident, the origin and trend of the economic and political relations development between China and Europe, the trend and experience of European literature & education development, the features of public management in Europe and its new development.

Main Research Fields, Features and Superiority:

1. European Trade and Finance Research: In this research field, the main issues studies include the trade relations, trade policy and monetary policy, financial system of Europe esp. European Union. These issues are the ones that should be paid special attention in the study of regional economic unity. Focusing on studying these issues, this research section will acquire observation and research achievements that have peculiar viewpoints and are different form the ones of general world economy research.

This research field is in the charge of Prof. Du Li, Doctor's tutor in the research of European financial and monetary study. The research team is consists of Prof. Li Junjiang and Prof. Xiang Weixing, Doctor's tutor and experts in European trade and finance respectively, Prof.Zhang Xiu'e, Ph.D. Wang Qian, Doctoral Students Li Yu, Ding Yibing, Wang Gang, Sun Qiufeng, Zhu Dongmei. The enormous research basis and potentiality is favorable for the further achievements of European economy research.

2. Law of Europe Union and globalization research: This research section has profound study on European economic law, international private law, European human rights theory and practice, on which substantial research achievements have been acquired. It is just the features and superiority of European law study that become the major strength and research basis leading to the setting up of European Studies Center of Jilin University.

At present, the main issues in the field contain European Human Right Act, European private law, Europe environmental law, Europe economic trade law, and European Union criminal administration of justice, Europe criminal law.

The research team in this field has rational structure and has accumulated plentiful research achievements, whose research on EU economy and some law issue such as criminal law is in the lead of domestic research and has broad social influence and features. With the financial supports from the EU-China Higher Education Cooperation Programmed, Zhang Xu in the research of this field, went successively to Europe for on-the-spot project study. Other researchers in this team are: Prof. Wei jingjian, Prof. Lv yanfeng, Prof. Na li, Vice-prof. Wang yanming, Vice-prof.Cai lidong, Vice-prof.Li renfu, Ph.D. in jurisprudence He zhipeng, etc.

3. European politics and international relations: This research section inclines to study the political and international relations between each EU member state, EU and other countries, European countries and each country of the world. Under the guidance of Prof. Wang caibo, Doctor's tutor, this research team including Prof. Huang fengzhi, Prof. Peng xianggang, Prof. Liu xuelian, vice-prof. Ma baobin, etc. has acquired fruitful achievements in the study of EU political system and European political developing pattern.

With the aid of the EU-China Higher Education Cooperation Programmed, this research section also offers such courses as European political and international relation to graduate, which widens their version and achieve good effects. This work will be sustained with the support of the Programmed.

4. European Philosophy Research w European philosophy has a long history and a far-reaching influence on philosophy development. So, the European philosophy research of our center is indispensable. Under the guidance of some scholar leaders such as Prof. Yao Dazhi, Prof. Wang tiancheng, Doctor's tutor, this research team acquires some study fruits in such fields as European linguistic philosophy, the history and development of European ideology that win a high appraise of other scholars. The potentiality for further study in this field is enormous.

5. European culture and education research w This research team devotes to the study on the origin, feature and influence of European culture, the European education system & method, its compare with china and its experience. European culture has a long history and plays an important role on the stage of world culture. Focusing on studying these issues, this research office will acquire a series of fruitful achievement. Under the guidance of associate professor, Chong Xianwei, this research team forms a rational structure and shows a good prospect.
