A notice about the project application for granting the publication of academic works on EU issues

The EU-funded programme obtained by the Centre for European Studies of Jilin University has been launched recently. The sub-project we applied to EU includes granting 11 academic publications, which are now open to project application; on campus scholars are welcomed to submit their project application.

 

1. The academic works are strictly limited to the following 11 study areas:

(1) The role and the functions of the government in the revitalization of old industrial base;

(2)EU legal structure and its institutions;

(3)The relationship among Member States of the EU;

(4)The regional policy of EU and its effect;

(5)The implications for the revitalization of old industrial bases in Northeast China: The experience of EU's regional policy and the practice of China's regional policy;

(6)The system of EU legal theory;

(7)Changes of EU's social structure and institution;

(8)The financial support for the revitalization of the traditional industrial regions: the European experience and China's choice;

(9)The transformation of traditional industries and the development of cyclic economy in Europe and the implications for China;

(10)The research on economic transition based on the economic development of EU's old industrial countries and the old industrial bases in Northeast China;

(11)The research on the internationalization of Higher Education based on the economic development of EU's old industrial countries and the old industrial base in Northeast China

2. The amount of granting the publication of the academic works is 2,000 euros.

3. The person who will be funded should have preliminary research base and be able to complete the project and submit it for publication before October, 2007.

4. The Centre for European Studies is in charge of signing the contract of the publication of academic works and other related matters.

5. It should be remarked with the words "funded by the Centre for European Studies" and reflect the originality when the book is published.

6. The deadline for the application is November 20, 2006. After examining by the academic committee of the center, the assessment results will be released in the center's website on November 30, 2006.

About Us
The Eu center of Jilin university,which subsidized by the EU-China's higher education collaborative project, established formally on November 5th, 1998. Doctoral supervisor of Jilin university Professor Du Li serves as the centre director .It is divided into four research rooms, including European Union law research room , European Union's trade and financial research room , European politics and international relations research room and philosophy research room of Europe. The composition of personnel of the centre is as follows: 9 full-time researchers (5 professors , 3 associate professors and an assistant) and 22 part-time researchers (6 professors , 7 associate professors , 7 lecturers and one assistant).
