" EU-China European Studies Centres Programme"

The European Studies Centres,which come from institutions of higher learning and scientific research institutions all over the country, gathered together in Beijing , summeried and outlooked the two-year long"EU-China European Studies Centres Programme " on January 30 and 31 in 2008. At the meeting, Professor Gunter S. Heiduk who is a expert form European fully affirmed the progress made by the academic circles of China on depth and breadth of the European studies over the past two years,and offered the suggestions on the industrialization of European studies. Dr. Christine Neuhold also gave a wide range of opinions and suggestions about how to achieve sustainable development of European studies after finishing the project. The representatives from the European Studies Centers of China introduced the model which would explore and fulfill the industrialization of European study outcomes through trainings.

Every centre had a brief exchange and report on the development and achievement of European studies during the project. Center for European Studies of Jilin University mainly introduced the valuable experiences of the project management. These attempts to management and management mode not only played an important role for the satisfactory completion of this project, but also provided a good management paradigm to promote the future of European studies and the holistic academic research.

Finally, the seminar held a grant signing ceremony. Du Li, Assistant to the President of Jilin University, Director of the Center for European Studies, authorized by Professor Zhou Qifeng, the President of Jilin University, signed the final grant document with Dr. Chen Xin ,the director of PMO and Dr. Gunter Wagner. The signing of this document meant that the nearly two-year European Studies Centres Programme was completed.
